The Pyramid of Success #6: Ambition

I think that John Wooden made the right choice for putting ambition as one of the block in the pyramid of success. The reason why it was a wise decision is because ambition will give you the push you need to finish your responsibilities and goals. Ambition is the engine and your responsibilities is the car. The car isn't able to drive on its own. The car needs an engine so that it can drive. In this car you are leader and it is your responsibility to give the car an engine so that the car is able to drive. When the engine is given to car it is now your responsibility to accomplish all your goals and responsibilities. Ambition is a big part in completing any task. When you have ambition you are able to complete tasks with a positive sense. Personally, I will apply this block from the pyramid of success to be more ambitious with everything I do. I will have the purpose to do everything on time and properly done. I will apply this block to my high school life. Since I am a senior teachers expect work to be well done. I will exceed their expectations and have determination as part of my mind set.

The Pyramid of Success #5: Cooperation 

Quote: With all levels of your co-workers. Listen if you want to be heard. Be interested in finding the best way, not having your own way. 

Cooperation is a vital characteristic when working with others. Since I am a student I have had plenty of group work to do. From my group work experience it is important to take everyone's opinions and ideas in consideration. Just like the quote says we should cooperate by listening to what others say. By doing this we will have the respect of others by them hearing what you have to say. The quote also suggest that you cant always have it your way. This means that not only you and your opinion will get all the credit of the work. It is also important that you give credit to the people that worked with you. I f you don't give credit you're not cooperating. As a student I know that cooperating is something that is necessary in each class. Especially in a English class. It is also important that you don't only think of yourself when your doing group work. Make sure that you give your team an opportunity to do something or write something based on the project. 

The Pyramid of Success #4: Loyalty 

Quote: "To yourself and to all those depending upon you. Keep your self-respect."

Loyalty is more than a characteristic. It is more like a quality which is necessary. When you have a job or go to school its good to have loyalty. For Instance, when your a student and you have a group project its important to have loyalty among your teammates. With out loyalty and dependence the group wont get a good score in their project. Loyalty is also very useful and a recommend quality to have. The reason being is because where ever you have to work you have to work with others you need to have loyalty that they will take over a day of work because you didn't go in. Also, when you have to work all together to complete task fast. Loyalty doesn't only apply to responsibilities. It can also refer to loyalty towards someone you really care about. Such as, family and friends. Loyalty is needed when you want to stay in contact with someone and have a connection with them. A relationship needs to have loyalty in order to work out. Without loyalty There will be no trust and problems will go towards that relationship. In the end of the day loyalty is something really important to have. 

The Pyramid of Success: Block #3: Friendship

Quote: ''Comes from mutual esteem, respect and devotion. Like marriage it must not be takes for granted, but requires a joint effort.'' 

I am excited to talk about friendship for today's pyramid block. The only reason why I am so enthusiastic is because a friend ship can affect a person so much. I your friendship relies on honesty and trust then you will have the confidence to tell that person what you are feeling. If you have a friendship that inst so close then there wouldn't be much trust with that person. Friendships are usually a good thing to have, but it can also be bad as well. For instance, if your friendship relies on dishonesty or doing things that are against the law, then that friendship isn't real. A friendship requires kindness and honesty. Personally, I already have this pyramid block in my life. I have a friendship with someone I met my 9th grade year of high school. This person moved to another school, but even till this day out friendship remains incredibly strong. The reason being is that this person listens to me when no one else does and gives me advice when I need it. Our honesty and kindness towards each other can not be replaced with anything in our world. 

The Pyramid of Success: Block #2: Enthusiasm

Quote: ''It is the engine that powers all blocks of the pyramid. It is why i chose Industriousness and enthusiasm as the corner stones of the pyramid. It is where everything begins.''

Enthusiasm is an important characteristic to have in your life. If John Wooden put it as a corner stone in the pyramid you know that this trait is a valuable thing is life. Of course, since enthusiasm is so valuable, it isn't something you can buy in a store or anywhere. It is something you have to develop during your life time. When someone has enthusiasm they look forward to doing their work and also to help others. Without enthusiasm you wont want to do anything for you or for anyone else. For instance, a student that has enthusiasm will finish their work on time and also help others who are stuck on homework or class work. But, students who don't have enthusiasm will avoid doing their work and be behind in their classes. Personally, I think that I can be more enthusiastic with waking up early and going to school in the morning. I will apply this block into my life to help me get through the struggle of coming to school although, my grades aren't bad. I'll also try my best to be enthusiastic about ever responsibility that comes my way. By doing this is will also be able to recommend people to try this out and see how much it can make a difference. 

The Pyramid of Success:  Block #1: Industriousness 

Quote: “Success is peace of mind which is a direct result of self-satisfaction in knowing that you did your best to become the best that you are capable of becoming.”

John Wooden was a basketball coach that was admired by many people. Throughout his life time he strives to make the lives of others better by giving them the gift of advice. Industriousness is an important thing to have in your life. The reason why it is important is because its good to keep yourself busy at all times. For Instance, even if you finished all your work it is good to take your free time and use it to benefit yourself by memorizing things.  John Wooden had to include industriousness as one of the blocks because making sure that your always busy and doing what you have to do ahead will separate you from others. For Example, not many people do their work ahead of time. I will apply thing part of the pyramid into my life by making sure i'm always on task. This will apply to school and home. Also, I will be able to encourage others into following my actions by also doing the pyramid that John Wooden created. The main reason why John Wooden created this was because he wanted people to be a better version of themselves. He wants people to realize that the pyramid is a way of a positive life. 

The Ten Keys to Personal Power Reflection

The Ten Keys to Personal Power has helped me a lot by giving me strength in each of the ten categories. Then ten categories are; competence, concentration, common sense, creativity, consideration, consistency,  commitment, courage, and confidence. Before I knew about these ten keys, I already had them. The way that these ten keys helped me were how they improved me in each section. For Instance, it made me feel more confident personally but, also it helped me feel more confident about my decisions. These ten keys are a positive thing to have because this is what makes a good effective person. In reality we need more people in the world who have traits like this. If that were to become a reality the world would be a much better place for everyone. If you have a goal that you are striving goal having these characteristics will help you make it to your goal. Personally, I am incorporating all of these ten keys to graduate high school. That's my main goal right now but, after high school my number one goal would be to graduate culinary school. After those two goal are completed i will strive to find a good job that will benefit me and my diplomas.
