Mental Health Counselor
Duties and Responsibilities:Work with individuals, groups and communities to improve mental health, Help clients define goals, plan action and gain insight, Examine issues including substance abuse, aging, bullying, anger management, careers, depression, relationships, LGBT issues, self-image, stress and suicide, Take a holistic (mind and body) approach to mental health care, Collaborate with other staff members to perform clinical assessments or develop treatment plans,Encourage clients to express their feelings and discuss what is happening in their lives, helping them to develop insight into themselves or their relationships.
Salary: $41,500 (annually)
Education: Masters Degree
Demand for this profession: This career had grown 29% in the course of 2 years. I don't think that there should be a demand for this profession because as it is it's growing more every years that passes.
Reflection: i think that if i had the education for this career i would definitely give this a chance. You get to help people when they're in trouble with their emotions. Many people can't deal with this on your own that is why we need mental health counselors. It's amazing how one person can change the way another person thinks. I would love to become a mental health counselor.
