‘’ I have been asked what i mean by ‘word of honor’. I will tell you: place me behind prison walls- walls of stone ever so high, ever so thick, reaching ever so far into the ground- there is a possibility that in some way or another i might be able to escape; but stand me on the floor and draw a chalk line around me and have me give my word of honor never to cross it. Can I get out of that circle? No, never! I'd die first.’’
Karl G. Maesar

This quote that Karl gave us an example of what ‘’word of honor’’ means. He said that you can lock him up in a cell and he had a possibility of getting out and have freedom. But then he gave us another example saying that if you were to draw a circle around him, there would be no way that he will even try to escape. If you were in a cell it would be close to impossible to get out especially with the guards around. But if you were to be put in a drawn circle it's just too easy. All you have to do is step out of the circle and you're free. But for Karl that is something that he wouldn't to. Karl G. Maesar would rather die that step out of that circle and ruin his word of honor. Word of honor is kind of like a promise. Those people that keep their promises are people that are well respected and trusted with to not do anything wrong. That why it's always good to think about what you about to do cause one mistake or decision can change your future. As for Karl ruining his reputation is dishonoring his word of honor. We should all think like Karl and may be this world would be a better place.
